Broncos extend winning streak to six with 11-1 dominant victory over CUNY foe BMCC

The Broncos' baseball team continued to pile victories on Monday afternoon, blowout out the Panthers of BMCC by a score of 11-1 (seven innings) The game took place at Ohio Field in the Bronx. With the triumph, the Broncos improved to a mark of 14-15 on the 2025 campaign (4-3 CUNY C.C.C.), while the Panthers dipped to a record of 2-17 (2-9 C.C.C.).

Luis Villaman had a very productive day at the dish for the hosts, as he drove in three runs for Bronx, earning a two-RBI single, as well as a sacrifice fly in the win. He also scored a run, drew a walk, and was hit by a pitch. Robert Genao reached base twice, smacking a two-RBI triple while denting home plate once and drawing a walk. Luis Torres registered a two-RBI single, and William Whitcomb reached base three times, registering a double, single, and a walk, while scoring a run and picking up an RBI. Juan Rodriguez singled, walked, scored three runs, and stole two bases, and finally, Giancarlo Leon singled, worked two walks, dented home plate once, stole a base, and drove in one.

On the hill for Bronx, ace Frailin Jimenez improved to 6-3 on the season with another brilliant effort, as the right-hander tossed a complete game (seven innings), allowing just one earned run on four hits while hitting a pair of batters and striking out 12. In 25 innings pitched against CUNY foes this season, Jimenez has allowed just five earned runs.

The Panthers plated a run in the top of the first, but it was all Bronx from there. The Broncos plated three runs in the bottom of the first inning, and two apiece in each of the second and third frames. The hosts scored a single run in the fifth, and wrapped the game up in the bottom of the seventh, plating three runs to trigger the 10-run mercy rule.

Bronx will look to make it six consecutive victories on Tuesday afternoon, as the Broncos travel to Padavan-Preller Field in Bellerose, NY to take on Queensborough. Start-time is scheduled for 3:30pm.
