A drained jumper by Martinez brought the Broncos to within three (19-16) with 3:17 remaining in the half, but the Lions outscored the hosts 4-1 in the final stages of the half to take a modest 23-17 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Bartley scored six of the Lions' 17 points in the third quarter as Nassau outscored Bronx 17-9 in the period to increase its lead to 14 (40-26) after 30 minutes of action. The Lions went ahead by as many as 20 points in the fourth, before going on to win the Region XV contest by 16.

Neither team shot the ball well, with the Lions earning just a 31.5 percent conversion rate (22-69), and the Broncos shooting 25.4 percent from the floor (16-63).
