Broncos finalize 2024 campaign with pair of defeats against Tigers, Wave at CUNYAC tri-match

The Broncos' women's volleyball team finalized its 2024 campaign on Saturday afternoon, dropping a pair of CUNYAC matches to conference foes Queensborough (6-25, 10-25, 20-25) and Kingsborough (21-25, 22-25, 13-25). With that output, Bronx finished its season at 1-18 (0-8 CUNYAC), while the Tigers improved to 14-5 (7-0 CUNYAC), and the Wave moved to 7-13 (6-4 CUNYAC).

Despite the loss to Queensborough, the Broncos were paced by Pamela Sierra, as she tied for the match-high of nine digs to go along with a kill and an assist. Veronica Rivera added six digs, and Naomi Rodriguez and Andrea Ramos contributed a kill apiece.

The Tigers were led by Scout Whiting, as she posted a match-high six kills to go along with six service aces. Melanie Chuu registered five kills and five service aces, and Isabel Torres put together a fine all-around afternoon, finishing with four kills while also tying Aubrey Delgado for the match-high of 10 assists. Finally, it was Cynthia Saravia Reye's seven service aces leading all players.

In Bronx's three-set defeat against Kingsborough, Sierra's six kills were a match-best. She also piled nine digs to go along with a pair of assists. Valerie De Los Santos finished with four kills and four digs, and Ramos contributed three kills and four digs. Rodriguez's 16 assists were a match-high, and Yamelis Santana's 11 digs led the Broncos.

Solandra Arizaga and Kyrah Allison tied for the team-high of four kills, with Arizaga also piling 13 digs. Kerlyn Gomez tied Joycelyn Toxqui for the match-high of 16 digs, while also contributing a match-best six service aces. Finally, it was Jasmine Morris finalizing her afternoon with 15 digs.
