Men's soccer defeated by SUNY Ulster in home finale Thursday afternoon

The Broncos' men's soccer team played its home finale on Thursday afternoon, falling to the Senators of SUNY Ulster by a score of 9-0 at Ohio Field. With the defeat, Bronx slipped to a mark of 3-6 on the 2024 campaign, while the Senators improved their record to 10-3-1.

SUNY Ulster peppered six goals into the net in the opening 45 minutes, with three of the first five coming courtesy of standout Sergio Gonzalez. Andrew Foster also netted a pair of tallies, and Enam Ahmed found the back of the next as well. The Senators' Max Maouris registered assists on his team's first three goals, and Imari Harris, Joe Maloney, and EJ Lazo all recorded helpers in the opening session as well.

In the second half, SUNY Ulster added three additional tallies, with two coming courtesy of Cristofer Moscozo. The first of his two goals was unassisted, with Eddy Duarte picking up an assist on the latter.

Senators goalkeeper Leon Maendel picked up a 71-minute shutout, not facing a shot on net. Ibrahim Muniru took the loss in between the pipes for the Broncos, though he did register nine saves on the afternoon.

SUNY Ulster outshot Bronx 45-4 on the afternoon.

Bronx will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday evening, as the Broncos will travel to Garden City, NY to take on the Lions of Nassau Community College. Start-time is scheduled for 6:00pm.
