Broncos lose to Express Saturday morning at Barclays Center

The Broncos' men's basketball team dropped a game on Saturday morning, falling to the Express of Monroe College-Bronx by a score of 105-49. The game was played at the Barclays Center, home of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets. With the defeat, the Broncos dipped to 1-20 on the 2022-2023 campaign, while the Express improved to 16-8 on the year.

Despite the loss for Bronx, freshman Herbert Gary posted game-highs of 16 points (7-14 FG) and nine rebounds. Taijay Good added nine points, while point guard Ludwin Rosa netted eight.

For the Express of Monroe College-Bronx, Siddiq McNair led the Express with 13 points, three assists and one steal. Jasigha Barnes registered 12 points (4-5 3pt-FG), two assists and one steal. Andrew Molina poured in 11 points, dished two assists, snatched two rebounds, and added a steal. And finally, Abubakar Kromah scored 10 points, grabbed nine rebounds, tallied steals, recorded three assists, and swatted a shot.

Monroe College-Bronx connected on 50.6 percent of its attempts from the floor (45-89), while the Broncos converted on just 36.4 percent of their shots (20-55). The Express held a commanding 50-24 edge in the rebounding department, while also recording 18 steals to Bronx's one. The Express also won the turnover battle, committing only 11 miscues while the Broncos had 24.

Bronx will return to action on Thursday evening, as the Broncos will travel to Hostos Community College for a CUNYAC game against the Caimans. Start-time is scheduled for 8:00pm.
