The Broncos men's basketball team continued to build a talented roster for the 2021-2022 campaign, signing versatile guard Ramon Santos to an NJCAA letter of intent.

The 6-foot-1 point guard comes to Bronx with a plethora of previous experience. Not only did he serve three years as the team captain at Cardinal Spellman High School, but he also played in 2020-21 at KOA Prep in Maryland. His commitment and success playing two-way basketball has Head Coach Rich Corsetto extremely optimistic about his potential.

"Ramon's experience at the high school level and prep school level makes him a tremendous addition to program," Corsetto said. "He is a very aggressive player who takes care of the basketball and has the ability to contribute consistent scoring. Ramon is an exceptionally tough kid who will also make a difference on the defensive end of the floor. We believe sky is the limit for him."

Santos registered some spectacular performances during his time with KOA Prep. Against Gonzaga, he scored 26 points. The versatile standout also dropped in 25 points and snatched six rebounds against Scotland Campus, while scoring 16 points, collecting 11 assists, and grabbing nine boards in a game against Elevation Prep. For Cardinal Spellman, he averaged 16 points, four rebounds, three dimes, and two steals per game. His former Prep School coach, Maurice Whitehurst, praised Santos as a great player and an even better person.

"Ramon has the desire and drive to be the best, willing to work diligently to improve every area of his game, "Whitehurst said. "He has a never-ending hunger to win. As a person, he's a great kid who is very coachable. He'll always listen to his coaches no matter the situation, and he's always willing to learn and do whatever needs to be done in order for the team to be successful."
