BAYSIDE, NY - The Bronx women's volleyball team was defeated by Hostos CC 3-0 (25-15, 25-19. 25-13) in the CUNY Athletic Conference semifinal.Â
This was the third matchup between these two teams on the season with Hostos winning the first two matchups by a combined 6-1. The Broncos dropped all three sets to the Caimans, with their most competitive set being the second, finishing 25-19. Hostos freshman Savannah Williams lead the match in scoring with 22 total points, including 17 kills and five service aces. Bronx sophomore
Nayely Rodriguez was second in overall scoring with ten total points including seven kills and three service aces.Â
Hostos finished with 23 total kills while Bronx finished with 13 total kills. Bronx had more errors with 19 compared to Hostos with 17. With this win, #2 Hostos CC advanced to the CUNY Athletic Conference Final to face #1 Queensborough CC.Â
