Broncos suffer 5th loss as FIT rolls 3-0

Game Recap: Women's Volleyball | 9/30/2021

BRONX, NY - The women's volleyball team suffered its 5th loss on the season as the FIT Tigers rolled to a swift 3-0 victory in Alumni Gym.  FIT improves its record to 4-1 on the season including two wins over Bronx CC. 

The Broncos had a rough night Thursday, as FIT kept the pressure on all evening resulting in a quick 3-0 rout. The Broncos dropped the opening set 25-8 with the contributing factor being many unforced errors. FIT had great service all night working the edges of the court forcing the Broncos to overplay and lead to errors. 

The Broncos did put up a fight in sets two and three being tied up early on. Although, the effort proved to be a mute factor as FIT pulled away, leading to 25-11 and 25-10 victories in respective sets. 

The highlight of the night for the Broncos was a spectacular block by Aichata Kone which lead to a point for the Broncos early on in the 2nd set. Nayely Rodriguez had a nice evening as well, with two service aces.

Bronx will look for its first win on the season Saturday as they play Monroe College and Nassau Community College in an afternoon doubleheader starting at noon in Garden City.
