Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Broncos drop third straight game, falling to Dutchess Falcons 80-74 on Tuesday evening

The Broncos men's basketball team dropped its third consecutive contest last night, falling to the Falcons of Dutchess Community College by a score of 80-74. The game took place in Poughkeepsie, NY. With the defeat, Bronx dipped to 9-12 on the 2019-2020 campaign, while the Falcons improved to a mark of 4-8 with the triumph.

The victory served as redemption for Dutchess, as the Broncos had outlasted the Falcons by a score of 79-76 back on December 3, 2019 at the Alumni Gym.

Despite the loss for Bronx, the Broncos were once again paced by Tilquan Rucker. The standout converted on 10 of his 21 attempts from the floor to finish with a team-high 26 points. He also contributed seven rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Malik Hamilton (6-11 FG) added 18 points, seven caroms, four steals, and three dimes, and Izaiah Richardson looked strong, connecting on four shots from downtown to finish with 16 points.

Stephen McGill was fantastic for the Falcons, posting game-highs of 32 points and 14 rebounds. He also contribute four steals, while adding three assists. Daniel Duffy registered 19 points, a game-high five steals, and three assists, and it was Isaiah Kostyal finalizing his evening with a double-double, scoring 15 points and snatching 10 rebounds.

The Falcons shot just a shade better from the floor on the evening, connecting on 33 of their 78 attempts from the floor (42.3 percent) compared to a 41.5 percent clip recorded by Bronx (27-65). Dutchess held a slim 43-36 advantage in the rebounding department, and the Falcons also won the turnover battle, committing just 16 miscues compared to 21 for the opposition.

Bronx will return to the court on Thursday evening, as the Broncos will travel to Brooklyn, NY to take on the Mad Titans of ASA-Manhattan. Start-time for the contest is scheduled for 8:00pm.
