Bronx halts four-game losing skid with 103-95 victory over CUNYAC foe Kingsborough; Four Broncos score in double figures


The Broncos men's basketball team picked up a much-needed victory on Thursday evening, turning back the Wave of Kingsborough by a score of 103-95 in CUNYAC action. The game took place in Brooklyn, NY. With the triumph, Bronx snapped its four game losing streak, improving to 2-6 on the 2019-2020 campaign (1-1 CUNYAC). The Wave fell to 0-8 (0-3 CUNYAC) with the loss.

Leading the way for Bronx was sophomore standout Tilquan Rucker, who put together a very versatile performance. He drilled 13 of his 23 attempts from the floor, finishing with 34 points. The guard also added six rebounds, five assists, and a pair of steals.

Malik Hamilton shot 66 percent from the floor (8-12) on his way to finishing with 21 points for the evening. He also snatched eight rebounds, registered a pair of assists, and picked up two steals.

Newcomer Brian Urena hit all seven of his attempts from the charity stripe, finalizing his night with 16 points, six rebounds, five steals, and three assists, and Steven Glover knocked down six of his 14 shot attempts (and all four of his free throws) to finish with 16 points. He also grabbed seven rebounds, blocked a pair of shots, and tallied two steals.

The Broncos offense was cooking last night, as Bronx drained 50 percent of its shots from the floor (36-72), while also draining 82.8 percent of its attempts from the charity stripe, misfiring on only five shots from the free throw line (24-29). The Broncos also spread the ball well, recording 15 assists on the night.

Bronx will now have four days off before returning to the court on Tuesday evening, as the Broncos will travel to Selden, NY to battle Suffolk County Community College. Start-time is scheduled for 8:00pm.
