Broncos edged by Bulldogs 74-73 Friday evening at Alumni Gym; Bronx now 2-7 in games decided by 10 points or less

Box Score The Broncos' men's basketball team suffered a tough home defeat on Friday evening, falling to the Bulldogs of Bergen Community College by a score of 74-73 at the Alumni Gym. With the defeat, Bronx slipped to a mark of 4-9 on the 2018-2019 campaign, while the Bulldogs improved their mark to 3-10 on the season

The Bulldogs' Benyamin Gerber connected on a put-back with four seconds remaining to give Bergen the one-point edge. That ended up being the difference in the contest, as Bronx was unable to take the lead on its final possession.

Despite the loss for Bronx, Tilquan Rucker led the way for the Broncos, as he scored 19 points while grabbing six rebounds, recording six steals, and contributing a pair of assists. Malik Hamilton netted 16 points, snatched seven boards, tallied four steals, and earned a pair of assists, and Elijah Lopez connected on five of his eight shots to finish with 13 points and six rebounds. William Paradise also chipped in with 10 points.

The Broncos will now have three days off before returning to action on Tuesday evening, as Bronx will host Westchester at the Alumni Gym. Start-time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
