Broncos' winning streak halted at three games as SUNY Orange defeats Bronx 81-69 Thursday evening

The Broncos' Men's basketball team had its three game winning streak snapped on Thursday evening, falling to the Colts of SUNY Orange by a final score of 81-69 in MIddletown, NY. With the defeat, Bronx dipped to 7-11 on the 2018-2019 season.

Tilquan Rucker led the way for Bronx, scoring a game-high 28 points while snatching 10 boards. Hector Montano contributed 17 points, 10 caroms, and four assists, and Rickardo Byfield netted 10 points while grabbing 14 rebounds.

In a winning effort for the Colts, Sean Campbell paced his squad, connecting on 10 of 17 attempts from the floor to finish with a team-high 21 points. He also contributed 15 boards, as well. Zayne Watson netted 14 points while grabbing seven rebounds, and Joshua Parker finished 10 points and 13 caroms. 

Despite Bronx holding a lead during the first period, the Broncos allowed the Colts to score 55 points in the second half while shooting poorly.  The Broncos' field goal percentage for the game was 32.1 percent (26-81) with a low 10 percent conversion rate (2-20) from beyond the arc. The Broncos recorded 40 rebounds, including 20 offensive boards, 15 assists, 19 steals, and four blocks.

The Broncos' next game will be on Tuesday evening, as Bronx will travel to Poughkeepsie, NY to play the Dutchess Community College Falcons. Start-time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
