Asia Nelson posts another double-double in the Broncos' defeat at Monroe-Bronx on Tuesday evening

The Broncos' women's basketball team suffered a defeat on Tuesday evening, falling to the Express of Monroe-Bronx by a score of 123-21 in a contest that took place in New Rochelle, NY. With the defeat, the Broncos slide to a mark of 2-11 on the 2018-2019 campaign, while the Express improved to a record of 7-11 on the year.

Despite the loss for Bronx, the Broncos were paced by Asia Nelson, as she continued her stellar season with another double-double, posting team-highs of 17 points and 10 rebounds in the process. Margie Guzman and Sashana Smith recorded three assists apiece in a losing effort, as well.

In the victory for the Express, Julie Trowers scored a game-high 46 points by connecting on 23 of her 30 shot attempts. She also added a game-high 13 steals to go along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Maryam Camara posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 caroms, and Ariana Jones and Tatyana Jones netted 15 and 14 points, respectively.

Bronx will return to action a week from tonight, as the Broncos will travel to Poughkeepsie, NY, to face Dutchess. Start-time for that game with the Falcons is scheduled for 6:00pm.
