Box Score

The Broncos dropped their second consecutive game on Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Sharks of Suffolk County Community College by a score of 5-4. With the defeat, Bronx is now 13-8 on the 2018 campaign, while the Sharks catapulted to a mark of 21-5 on the year. The game took place at the PAL Sports Complex.

Bronx gave Suffolk County Community College everything it could handle on this day, with the Broncos rallying back from deficits of 3-0 and 4-1 to eventually tie the game at four apiece in the top of the eighth inning. The Sharks would notch a run in the bottom of the eighth to jump ahead by a score of 5-4 – and that would prove to be the winning run as the Broncos would come up just a bit short.

Despite the loss for the Broncos, Alexander Pimentel tossed a solid seven innings in relief, as he allowed four runs (just two earned) on 10 hits while walking one batter and striking out two. He received the loss, as he pitched the bottom of the eighth inning and allowed two hits and the winning run.  Starter Kevin Gerson received a no-decision for Bronx.

Offensively for the Broncos, Derek Galvez was tremendous at the plate for his team, as he collected three hits including a homerun and a pair of singles. He also scored a run and drove home two. Jeffrey Almanzar and Justin Nunez collected two singles apiece, as well.

Bronx will return to action on Friday afternoon, as the Broncos and Sharks will play a doubleheader at Ohio Field. Start-times for those contests are scheduled for 12:00pm and 2:30pm, as Bronx looks to halt its miniature two-game losing skid.
