The Broncos had their nine game winning streak snapped on Sunday afternoon, as Bronx fell to Nassau Community College by a score of 15-5. The game took place in Garden City, NY, and was called after six innings when the 10-run mercy rule gave the Lions the victory.

The defeat was the Broncos' first in over half a month, as Bronx had not dropped a game since back on March 31 when it lost game one of a doubleheader against CUNYAC foe Queensborough.

Alexander Pimentel took the loss for Bronx, as he struggled in his start, hurling just three and one-third innings and allowing 10 runs (six earned) on 10 hits while issuing two free passes and striking out three batters. Jesse Castillo didn't fare much better in relief, as he recorded two and one-third innings, allowing five runs (two earned) while giving up six hits and walking a batter.

Michael Mateo recorded a double and an RBI for the Broncos in a losing effort. He also scored a run, as well. Christian Cedeno also hit a two-bagger while driving home a run and denting home plate once, and Raudy Alberto Acosta and Jeffrey Almanzar recorded two singles apiece.

The Broncos will return to action on Tuesday afternoon, as the Bronx will take on Suffolk County Community College at Ohio Field. First pitch for the non-conference game is scheduled for 3:30pm.
