The Bronx Community College baseball team continued to slug its way to victories, as the Broncos crushed The Wave of Kingsborough Community College on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 12-2 in a City University of New York Athletic Conference contest. The game took place in Brooklyn, NY. With the victory, the Broncos have now won five consecutive games, and boast a record of 9-6 on the 2018 campaign (4-1 CUNYAC). The Wave dipped to 4-8 on the year (2-1 CUNYAC).

Bronx Community College has now scored 12 or more runs in four consecutive games, and has notched a total of 60 runs in its last four contests.

Earlier today, the Broncos gradually built their lead – denting home plate twice in the first first inning – two more times in the third – and three times in the fourth to grab a 7-0 lead after four turns at-bat. Later – leading 8-1 heading into the top of the eighth - Bronx Community College added four more runs to catapult ahead by a commanding margin of 12-1. The Broncos would win the game 12-2 in an eight-inning, shortened game.

Ariel Irving Lora was the offensive star of the day, as he fell just a single short of the cycle, going three-for-three with a homerun, triple, double, and six runs batted in. Jeffrey Almanzar recorded three singles and a walk while scoring once and driving in two, and Derek Galvez doubled, singled, walked, scored a run, and picked up two RBI. Christian Cedeno also added a pair of singles, a run, and a RBI.

Aaron Bonilla Suarez – the two-time reigning CUNYAC Pitcher of the Week – was absolutely dominant once again, as he hurled eight innings, allowing two unearned runs and three hits while walking just two, hitting a batter, and striking out three.

The Broncos will have two days off before returning to action on Friday afternoon, as Bronx Community College will battle Kingsborough in the second game of four between the two teams this week. Friday's game will take place in Brooklyn, NY, with first pitch scheduled for 4:00pm.
