Box Score March 2, 2015 – Bronx, NY
Nine walks resulted in a lopsided scoreboard at yesterday's game as BCC fell to the Sharks of Suffolk County. With the game ending early in a 12-0 loss, the Broncos were greatly outplayed in their first of four games against the Sharks this season.
In a game the rest of the team looks to put behind them, catcher
Edwin Hidalgo managed to make the most of his trips to the plate. In his second plate appearance, he waited on a full count pitch and crushed it into the gap for a triple. Unfortunately, this was the closest they came to scoring all afternoon as Suffolk's ace, Frank Valentino, continued to dominate batters as he has done all season.
The Broncos will play the Sharks again this Friday in Selden before the series returns to the Bronx this weekend. Following the loss, the Broncos hold a 3-2 record within the region (3-4 overall) and remain tied for first place in the CUNY Athletic Conference. Come out to Ohio Field this Saturday to see the second half of this regional matchup. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 12 noon.
