The Bronx baseball team wrapped up their series against the Lions of Nassau with a 9-7 win in extra innings. Unfortunately, this was their only win of the weekend as they went 1-3 against the region leaders to drop to 5 wins and 7 losses in regional play.

When the Broncos resumed their suspended game from earlier in the week, the game was tied 9-9 in the 9th. Neither team could reach home so play continued on into the 10th, when Francisco Ogando stepped up to the plate and crushed a solo shot to right field.  But it was too little, too late for the Bronx and they fell 12-10.

Ogando kept the hot bat throughout the series, going 3-4 with another homerun in a 12-5 loss at home.

On Saturday, the team travelled to Nassau for a doubleheader. BCC looked sluggish in the first half of the doubleheader, losing to the Lions by a final score of 12-2. They flipped the script for the final game, bringing in 9 runs in an extra inning winning. Once again, Ogando led the team in batting, going 3 for 5 with a double, two triples, and 3 runs batted in. Bronco's ace, Ruben Gomez had another impressive outing, striking out 9 in a complete game performance.

The Bronx Broncos return to action this week for their series against CUNYAC rival Queensborough. BCC holds a 3-1 record in CUNY (5-9 overall) while their opponent sits at 5-3. They will take on the Tigers in a doubleheader at Ohio Field this Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 12 Noon.
