After getting beat by the Wave earlier this week, the Broncos turned the tides to win all 3 matchups against Kingsborough over the weekend. In three games they outscored their opponent 29-15.

In the first half of Saturday's double-header, Bronx was led by the strong pitching of Ruben Gomez who allowed just 4 hits in over 6 innings of work. The offense finally showed what they were capable of, pouring on 13 runs in the shortened 7 inning game. Yasser Mendez stood out, going 2-4 with a walk in a 3 RBI performance. BCC continued to pile on the runs late in the game, ending with a final score was 13-4.

The second game was a tighter contest, but dominant pitching continued to be the trend as the Broncos emerged victorious in a 1-run game. In 6 innings of work, Joel Martinez gave up 4 hits while the defense went error-free for the entire game. Bronx showed their offensive depth with both Juan Melendez and Elvis Hernandez recording 2 hits, with Mendez and Francisco Ogando bringing in 2 runs apiece.

BCC brought their bats once again in the final game of the series, an impressive 5-run 2nd inning gave the Broncos a commanding lead and they never looked back. Lutty Santiago came out of the bullpen to provide 6 strong innings of work, during which he allowed 2 hits and struck out 4 batters. Ogando brought his bat once again, as he and Edwin Hidalgo recorded 3 RBI.

Following their sweep this weekend, the Broncos commanded the season series three games to one. This will be their last matchup against Kingsborough for the remainder of the regular season.

The Broncos return to action tomorrow at Suffolk County Community College in Selden, NY. First pitch is set for 4pm.
