The Bronx Community College Baseball team fell to Kingsborough Community College 11-9 on Tuesday. The game was held at MCU Park in Coney Island, Brooklyn as part of the CUNYAC Baseball Championship.
The Broncos jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first inning and 7-2 in the fifth. The Wave, however, would come back jumping ahead 9-7 in the sixth. Going into the ninth inning, the Broncos were down 11-8 with only three outs remaining.
Following a rally, highlighted by an RBI double by Danny Rojas, BCC would have the base loaded with two outs in an 11-9 game. The Bronx rally would fall just short, ending on a ground ball to seal the game.
The Kingsborough win marks the third time in school's history that the Wave have won the CUNYAC Championship and the first time since 1999.
The Broncos will be back in action on Friday, May 2 for their last home game against the Sharks of Suffolk Community College. First pitch at Ohio Field is set for 4pm.
