Broncos Get First Win, Split Double Header with Nassau

The Bronx Community College baseball team notched their first win of the 2014 season this past Saturday when they split a double header with the Nassau Lions one game apiece.

In the first game, BCC struggled at the plate and fell by the score of 8-1. There were some bright spots on offense however, LF Jonathan Suarez went 2-4 and also scored the lone run for the Broncos. RF Justin Soto went 3-3 with a double and 3B Daniel Rojas recorded the RBI for BCC.

The Broncos bounced back strong in the second game coming out on top with a 6-2 victory. Starting pitcher Adolfy Javier went all 7 innings while only surrendering 2 runs. He was dominant on the mound recording 8 strikeouts. Bronx received multiple contributions at the plate in Game 2, with 1B Victor Leroux leading the charge with 2 hits, 2 runs and one RBI. CF Franyi Santana went 2-3 with a RBI double. The strong performance resulted in the Broncos getting into the win column for the first time this season.
