The Bronx Community College Baseball team split their double-header with the Kingsborough Wave on Sunday. As a result, the Broncos split the regular season series with Kingsborough at 2 games a piece.
In Game 1, SP
Lutty Santiago pitched a complete game and received the win for BCC. Santiago allowed 3 earned runs while striking out 5 and only surrending one walk against the Wave lineup. SS Claudio DeAza led BCC at the plate with 3 hits, 2 runs and 2 RBI's. 3B
Daniel Rojas continued his recent offense success going 2-3 with 2 runs and a RBI. After the Broncos fell behind early in the contest, they battled back to take the lead in the 5th inning. KCC answered back in the bottom of the frame with a run of their own to tie the game at 4-4. The score remained knotted at 4 until the top of the 7th inning when Bronx added 3 more runs. This proved to be the difference as Santiago was able to close the door on KCC in the bottom of the 7th, sealing a 7-4 win for BCC.
In Game 2, the Broncos provided a lot of offense but it was not enough. Kingsborough came away with the victory of the high scoring game by the score of 13-10.
The two teams will meet again on Tuesday, April 29th in the the CUNYAC Championships. The game is being held at MCU Park on Coney Island in Brooklyn, NY.
