The Bronx Community College Baseball team defeated the Kingsborough Community College Wave today by the score of 6-4. With the victory, the Broncos have now won 5 out of their last 6.
BCC got off to a slow start while the Wave jumped out to 4-0 lead in the 3rd inning. SP
Ruben Gomez then began to settle in, not allowing a run after the 3rd. Gomez went 7 innings total while notching 7 strikeouts. Despite the early deficit, BCC battled back to tie the game with the 3 runs in the 4th inning and 1 run in the 5th. 3B Danny Rojas led the offensive charge going 3-5 and scoring 2 runs. C
Jose Marte broke the tie game in the bottom of the 7th with an RBI double to deep left field. 1B
Victor Leroux followed by knocking in Marte with an RBI single to give the Broncos a 2 run lead. P
Adolfy Javier entered the game in the 8th inning and shutdown KCC. He recorded 6 outs without giving up a hit and struck out 3 to earn the save.
The win improves BCC's overall record to 8-14 and 7-2 in CUNYAC play. Bronx returns to play Friday April 25th, when they host Kingsborough at Ohio Field. The game is scheduled to start at 4 pm.
