The BCC Lady Broncos Women's Basketball Team opened their season on Tuesday with a solid 48-41 victory over the Falcons of Dutchess CC. The win marks the first time in the teams short 3-year history where the team has won its season opening game.

Dutchess proved to be a challenge for Bronx from the opening tip. Both teams made their runs and the score was close for much of the game. Coach Pete Cepeda kept the team focused all game long. The Lady Broncos kept the pressure on with strong defense an clutch shooting and were rewarded for their efforts in the end.

Freshman, Hivelize Escobar was the star of the game in her first collegiate start as she scored a team high 27 points to go with 9 rebounds and 6 steals. Sophomore Dorae Murray added 8 points and 4 assists while, newcomer Dominique Edwards put up 7 rebounds, 5 assists and netted 4 points in a great all-around performance.

With the win, the Lady Broncos start 1-0 and return to action on Saturday, November 16^th in Brooklyn, NY as they take on the Wave of Kingsborough CC at 12 noon.
