Sean Kelly

Sean Kelly enters his fourth year at the helm as coach for the Bronx Community College Broncos. In his first year at Bronx, Kelly posted 18 wins and captured a coveted CUNY Championship, the third title in a row for the Broncos.

Kelly guided the 2012-13 team to a historic run in the Region XV Playoffs. The Broncos, the number six seed in the tournament, upset rival Hostos and Rockland, both higher seeds in the opening two rounds of action. The Broncos run towards the NJCAA Division III National Tournament came up just short in the Region XV championship game against Sullivan CC.

Prior to arriving at Bronx, Kelly served as Head Coach at Bergen CC in Paramus, NJ from 2006-2011. During his time at Bergen, Kelly captured consecutive Region XIX and Garden State Athletic Conference Championships in 2009 and 2010. He led his 2009-10 team to an undefeated regular season campaign finishing the regular season with a perfect 30-0 record. Bergen advanced to back-to-back NJCAA Division III Final Four appearances in both 2009 and 2010. Kelly set records at Bergen for most wins in school history (34) while his team held the number one ranking in the country for the entire regular season. Kelly was selected Region XIX and District 6 Coach of the Year in both 2009 and 2010.

Over his career, Kelly has mentored 3 NJCAA All-Americans, 15 All-Region players and has placed countless players in NCAA scholarship situations.

He holds a Master’s in Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. He currently resides in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, NY with his wife Barbara and his two daughters.
