The LaGuardia Community College Lady Red Hawks defeated the Bronx Community College Lady Broncos in the Final game of the 2016 CUNY AAthletic Conference Community College Division by score of  65-54.  The win gave the Lady Red Hawks their 1st Championship in their Women's Basketball team history.  Congratulations to the Champions!

The Bronx CC team played an average game.  Their game shooting % was 36.4%, made no 3pts baskets and shot 42.9% from the free throw line.  

The Lady Broncos were outrebounded 65 to 54, which matches the final score of the game.  They had 23 turnovers and 12 assists.

Statistically, the Bronx team numbers matched the LaGuardia numbers.  

The Red Hawks played better in the initial 2 quarters.  The Lady Broncos matched them during the final 2 quarters.  The Bronx CC team was not able to reduced the lead LaGuardia gained early in the game.

Freshman Barbara Castro (17 points), Sophomores Shakia Artist (15 points) and Angel Mbamalu (11 points) were the leading scorers for the Lady Broncos.

Shakia Artist (10 rebounds, 5 block shots, 8 turnovers) and Angel Mbamalu (8 rebounds 2 turnovers) worked hard on the Lady Broncos defense.
