The Bronx CC Women's Basketball team travelled to Garden City, NY today and defeated the Nassau CC Lions team by a score of 59-53 in theCostigan Physical Education Complex.  

This was the last game of the regular season for the Lady Broncos.   With the Winter weather being windy and the temperature being low, the Bronx CC team showed up ready and prepared.

The victory was the 4th consecutive game that the Lady Broncos have played excellent team basketball.

Barbara Castro (21 points) had 8 steals, 3 assists and 4 turnovers.  She played her position well, lead the team and made good basketball decisions.

Shakia Artist (16 points) had 12 rebounds and 3 block shots.  In the regular season schedule, Shakia Artist had 139 block shots in 25 games to lead the nation in the NJCAA Division III.

Next for the Lady Broncos is the defense of the title as CUNY Athletic Conference 2015 Champions.  To repeat as CUNY Champions is a challenge that the excellent Bronx CC team is prepared to take on.

The Semifinal game is on Tuesday, Febraury 16, 2016 at 6:00PM vs. Hostos CC in the BMCC Gymnasium.
