Box Score Long Island City, NY - 12/6/13

The Lady Broncos got back to their winning ways last night with a win over LaGuardia Community College, defeating the Red Hawks 66-56.  The game marked the first ever matchup between the two teams as LaGuardia starts its brand new NJCAA basketball program.

Hivelize Escobar once again starred for the Lady Broncos, finishing the game with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 6 steals.  Sophomore Dorae Murray had a season high 19 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.  Chelsea Harris also added 6 points and 6 rebounds of her own.

The game was a close one for most of the contest.  The Lady Broncos found themselves down by 3 at the half, trailing the Red Hawks 36-33.  In the second half, BCC's scoring was steady and the defense tightened up, limiting LaGuardia to just 20 points the period.
 
With the win, Bronx moves to 3-1 overall and 3-0 within Region XV.  The Lady Broncos return to action on Saturday, December, 7^th at 1pm as they play host to Hostos CC in the Battle of the Bronx.
