Box Score 12/12/2013 – Bronx, NY

The women's basketball team fell to regional rival Sullivan Community College on Thursday, by the score of 74-38. With the loss, the Lady Broncos drop to 3-3 overall and 3-2 within Region XV.

From the opening tip, it seemed as if the Generals had too much for BCC, as they scored first and kept pouring it on. Midway through the first half, Sullivan led 19-9. But the Lady Broncos, led by standout Freshman, Hivelize Escobar, fought back with an 11-3 run that brought the team to within two points at 22-20. Sullivan hit a few buckets late in the half, but Bronx kept them within striking distance at trailing by 9 at the break, 31-22.

BCC's shooting then went cold in the second period, as the Generals heated up. Scoring just 16 points the rest of the way, the Lady Broncos were unable to get any closer.

Hivelize Escobar led the team with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Dorae Murray added 12 points of her own.

The Lady Broncos return to action on Sunday, January 5^th as they visit Nassau CC at 1pm in Garden City, NY.
